Camilla Taylor

Camilla Taylor really is a “Wonder Woman.” She is the Director of Constitutional Litigation at Lambda Legal, the national legal organization dedicated to achieving full recognition of the civil rights of LGBTQ. She was the architect of the legal case that brought marriage equality to Iowa in 2009 and she was one of the leading strategists behind the United States Supreme Court victory resulting in the freedom to marry for same-sex couples across the country. While saving the world for LGBTQ people everywhere, Camilla somehow also manages to find time to create quilts of extraordinary beauty. Her attention to detail, her use of vibrant colors and her incorporation of playful and provocative patterns and images combine to create a mosaic that one can stare at for hours. A relentless collector of fabric swatches and scraps, Camilla began honing her sewing skills several years ago by producing personalized gift quilts for friends and loved ones. Gallery Victor Armendariz is proud to be the first to display Camilla’s work to the general public.
